Our School Council

Congratulations to our new School Councillors for this school year 23-24

What is role the school council?

We help make suggestions about how to improve the school and help other children when they need it.

We also hold fundraising events such as the Pyjama Day for the whole school as well as different events during the year.

We currently have over £200 in our fundraising account and we are saving this up to buy something yet to be decided for the whole school.

Each member of the school council has a role such as Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Head of Communications and many others. We encourage other childrent to run lunchtime clubs for younger children.

So far this year the children have surveyed their class to see what they would like our focus to be. We had lots of brilliant suggestions and the children are currently investigating the costs and which are achievable. They have also decided that they want to hold a pyjama day for charity, their chosen charity being the Royal British Legion. The School Council have also taken ownership of the school Anti-Bullying policy and format. They have decided to make it as a child-friendly leaflet and are currently working on it’s production.

Items currently on our agenda:

  • Anti bullying policy production
  • Pyjama day for Royal British Legion
  • Costing for agreed suggestions:
    • Footballs for each class (different colours?)
    • Recycling bins
    • Cricket nets
    • Monkey bars outside

Teachers to discuss:

  • Rota for use of climbing frame in the hall
  • Football rota for each class to play one day per week

Together we live, learn and flourish
