Start of term 6

What a very busy start to the summer term we have had!

The Chestnut and Oak children took part in the District Sports in the first week back, and represented our school well.

We have had 2 cricket sessions with the cricket coach and were able to get on the firld to play this week. Hopefully, the weather will allow us to do this more often. these Friday sessions will continue for the rest of the term.

In Science, the children had fun melting chocolate and marshmallows in the solar ovens, having first decided the question they wanted to answer, and made their predictions.

We have started on our end of year formal assessments, with the children happy to accept the challenge and taking the tests in their stride.

Miss Davies-Moore has linking the History unit to writing, and the children have produced some good non-chronological reports on life in The Bronze Age. Miss Davies-Moore will be responsible for all of the teaching over the next 8 days, and then, sadly, we have to say goodbye, as her placement (and course) are coming to the end. She has made tremendous progress and I know that the children have enjoyed working with her, as have Mrs Paxford and I.

Together we live, learn and flourish
