Maple Class Trip to Bristol Zoo Project - 3rd June 2026
We have had a fantastic trip to The Bristol Zoo Project today. We had a brilliant African Animal workshop where we learnt about the different environments in Africa - the grasslands, the desert and the forests. We looked at different objects from different animals and matched them to the correct picture. We saw a hyena skull and thought about what it eats and how strong its jaws are. We also learnt how an ostritch uses its feathers to dance (see the video!) We saw loads of animals including giraffes, zebras, monkeys, bears, gorillas, cheetahs, crocodiles, ostrich and lemurs.
The children had a little bit of downtime in the playpark and children showed resilience and courage to be able to go down the fireman pole on their own.
Well done Maple, we had a great day and several people from the zoo commented on their great behaviour. There were lots of tired children on the way home, so we expect they will sleep well for you tonight!
