Willow Class Summer 2 Week 1
Date: 6th Jun 2025 @ 12:10pm
We have had another busy week back in Willow Class.
In History we enjoyed sharing our research about what our families played with as a child, In Science we looked at photosynthesis and recorded the cycle. We also had a visit from Harold and the Life Education van where we learnt about bullying and kindness. We learnt about the deciples in RE and talked about peace. We created our own special hearts to represent peace. Today we taught Maple 'Come Dance with me' playing instruments to the beat. In English, we completed our independent writes based on Dragon post and we are excited to find out our new book next week. In Maths Y1 looked at subtraction and Y2 looked at change. We finished the day with some games of dodgeball.
Our play project for the week focused on Oceans as today is 'World Oceans Day!'. We have created beaches, signs, describe creatures and created our own clay models.
We have enjoyed:
- Playing dodgeball - Gracie, Freddie and Archie.
- Designing a yeti noodle menu - Annabelle.
- Making my bowl out of clay - Roman.
- Making hearts in the playdoh - Esme.
- Making my sea animal - George.
- Earning my DT license - Noah and Teddy.
- Making my fish in a lake using recycling - Charlie.
- Making bubble mixture - Humphrey and Finley.
- Looking at number bonds to 100 - Edie.
- Making my own fishes and beaches for ocean day - Felix.
We all put on our best smiles this morning - 27 photos later and we got there!
Year 1s are all ready for phonics next week, they have been given another set of words to practise over the weekend.
Have a fabulous weekend and rest,
Miss Jackson, Mrs Gardener, Julia and Willow Class.
