Willow Class Summer 1 Week 1

Date: 2nd May 2025 @ 11:57am

Welcome back to Summer term! We have had a great week in Willow class and have loved the sunny weather. We have started to learn our new story 'Dragon Post' and used adjectives to describe different dragons. In Maths Year 2 have been looking at reading past times to 5 minute intervals and have been amazing. Year 1 have finished learning about fractions and been practising their lefts and rights today. Over the long weekend see if you can challenge them to a game of Simon Says. In History we shared our favourite toys and in RE looked at the story of Matthew the tax collector. In Science we compared bulbs and seeds. In Explore and Learn we have had glasses made, robots, race tracks, dragons and much more!

We have enjoyed:

  • Learning our lefts and rights in Maths - Gracie, Roberta.
  • Learning the actions to Dragon post - Annabelle.
  • Making a robot using the crates and wooden planks - Humphrey, Charlie and Freddie.
  • Making a race track - Archie, Archie and Roman.
  • Making a little dove out of playdoh - Ivy.
  • Making a car out of magnetic tiles - Felix.
  • Playing in the mud kitchen and making a chocolate stew - Octavia.
  • Making a mansion using magnetic tiles - Finley.
  • Colouring my chinese dragon - Bea.
  • Improving the race track - George.

We have an exciting week next week with our trip to Swindon STEAM, VE Day and we look forward to seeing lots of grown ups next Friday to join in with Explore and Learn with us.
