Willow Class School Blog Summer 2 Week 2

Date: 12th Jun 2026 @ 1:27pm

 Another busy week of learning.

This week, we have been busy across all areas of our learning. In Maths, Year 2 have been learning to tell the time in 5-minute intervals and reading the clock. Year 1 have been practising regularly to build confidence and been focusing on telling the time to half past and ordering events throughout the day and week. In English, Year 1 focused on using adverbials to help sequence ideas. We gave Miss Jackson instructions on how to make a jam sandwich, which led to some very funny moments! This helped us understand the importance of being clear and specific. Year 2 have been practising time adverbials, emotive language, first person and past tense.

In DT, we carefully prepared ingredients and made our own delicious wraps, using food preperation skills safely and independently. In Science, we learnt about the life cycle of a frog, exploring each stage from frogspawn to adult frog. In PSHE, we discussed what we could do as a baby, a toddler, and what we can do now, helping us reflect on our growth. In Music, we continued learning Tanczymy labada and practised Hi-Lo-Chika-Lo  building rhythm and confidence. In PE, we continued practising for Sports Day on Monday, working on teamwork and the order of the day ready for Sports day.

As part of our World Ocean Day play project, we created an ocean scene with animals, corals and posters about protecting our oceans, learning how to care for marine life.
