Willow Class Class Blog Summer 2 Week 4
Date: 23rd May 2025 @ 3:21pm
Happy end of term! We have had another busy week in Willow. We have finished writing our own story based on Dragon Post. We have continued to learn 'Come Dance with me' in Music, learning the terms quavers and crotchet. In Maths, Year 1 have looked at subtracting and Year 2 recogninsing and adding pounds and pence. We have in History looked at how we know toys are old or new by looking at stitching, wear and materials. In Art we created our own 3D structures using paper rolling techniques. We finished the week with a class game of dodgeball where we practised our techniques of dodging and catching. We have had a spectacular week of creativity in Explore and Learn this week with moving vehicles being made, lots of us earning our DT license and we even finished the day mathching all the European flags.
We have enjoyed:
- Making a house for my cat using beads, boxes and dowels - Freddie.
- Making a lego house - Archie.
- Making my own story about 2 horses, 2 robbers and a dad - Octavia.
- Writing my own version of Dragon post - Annabelle.
- Making a cat toy with Finley using string and foam - Lilli.
- Counting pennies - Roman.
- Writing instructions on how to surf - Bea.
We also had the most amazing tasting honey bought in by Raf to celebrate Bee week.
We have had a busy and jam packed term! We look forward to the madness that comes with summer term. We are looking forward to Sports Day in a few week but for now need a well earned rest. Over the holidays the children can find out about toys their grown ups had as children - I have sent home a recording form but photos can also be shared. We look forward to sharing on Monday 2nd.
Have a fabulous half term!
