Willow Class Blog Summer 1 Week 2
Date: 9th May 2025 @ 1:50pm
What a busy 4 day week we have had. We had an amazing day at the STEAM Museum on Wednesday learning all about toys and the history the Great Western Railway. On Thursday, we celebrated VE day by looking at the story War Games by Michael Foreman War Game - Christmas Truce and celebrating with a whole school tea party. Bea and Annabelle created during Explore and Learn acrostic poems that they shared during the tea party. We have in Maths learn our directions and turns (Y1s) and Y2 have learnt about time to the hour. Challenge us to tell the time! In English, we have finished learning the actions to Dragon Post and will share our video on Tuesday. Yr 1 have looked at capital letters for names and Y2 have looked at commas and apostrophe's.
We have enjoyed:
- Making a clock using paper plates, spit pins and card - Gracie.
- Reading my poem aloud to the school - Annabelle.
- Making tiny robots on the Art table - Roman.
- Making hearts in the playdoh - Alicja.
- Making my war plane using cardboard and cotton reels - Freddie.
- Going to the STEAM museum - Humphrey.
- Making my football pitch using paper, card, dowels and carboard - Charlie.
- Making sand turtles - Edie.
- Making hedgehogs with the clay for Hedgehog Awareness week - Lilli.
- Making a poem and talking about it in the tea party - Bea.
Have a fabulous sunny weekend!
