Week Spring Term 2

Date: 23rd Feb 2024 @ 3:37pm

What a busy and fun week back!

It's another short half term and so we have launched head-first into our new topics, including learning about the countries in the Mediterranean region of Europe. For homework, I have asked that the children research one of these countries (not Italy!) to get a flavour of the region.

We have begun using poetic devices and figurative language to create a poem based on Amanda Gorman's 'Change Sings', as well as recapping on the Easter story in RE. This afternoon, the children have enjoyed looking at yes/no questions and how these can be used to group information in Computing, as a start to creating Branching Databases. We had fun playing 'Guess Who' to get us thinking about how to narrow down the available information.

After an emotional end to 'The Last Bear', we have started to read our new, award-winning, class book, 'Twitch' by MG Leonard. It started with a 'bang' and it was lovely to hear so many of the children so excited about it! We will use this for reading comprehension this term.
