Start of academic year 26-27

Well, although our first week of the new school year was short, we certainly packed a lot in in Chestnut Class!

The children have returned to school beautifully and, although tired by Friday, have been motivated and happy to start getting into our new learning routines. 

This week we have begun topics in RE, History and PE; investigated our class bookcorner and our new school library; identified potential leadership roles; reconnected with our classmates and shown what we have remembered from last year in maths and English. 

Next week, we will start adding in daily handwriting sessions and will begin our new topics in Science, DT, PSHE and Music, as well as begin our 'proper' lessons in maths and English. I will, of course, be 'reading the room' over the next couple of weeks and ease us in as best as I can, despite having a lot to fit in.
