Maple Class - Autumn 1 week 1
Date: 4th Sep 2025 @ 9:54pm
Well, what a fantastic start to this school year we have had. We have all settled in brilliantly and are learning the class routines. There were a few initial tears from some, but I can assure you these soon stopped once we got into the classroom and lots of exploring and learning was done.
Children stayed for their first lunchtime this week and all coped really well with being in the hall with the whole school. Some children had a packed lunch from home but most children had a lovely hot dinner cooked by Juliette and most of the plates were clean at the end! The lunch was clearly enjoyed by all.
We have loved reading your Summer Adventure books this week, if your child has not had chance to share theirs yet, don’t worry, we will definitely get to them! If you haven’t yet sent them in please do so ASAP. After we have shared them with the class they will stay in our reading corner for the year, so children to look at them during explore and learn time with their friends – this is always something the children enjoy doing throughout the year.
This week we have enjoyed doing dough disco each day to improve our hand strength ready for writing. We have also loved playing in our new mud kitchen area, in the home role play corner, exploring games and puzzles, playing with the small world and dolls house, exploring our investigation area – the magnets, torches and magnifying glasses. We’ve created a dinosaur land in the sand pit and then found some dinosaur books to look at, we’ve used the scissors to follow cutting lines, sang lots of nursery rhymes and counting songs plus we’ve been practising writing our name … what a busy week!
We look forward to Maple children staying all day next week, I’m sure they’ll be lots of tired children come next Friday.
Have a lovely weekend.
