Ofsted - October 2009
Ofsted have now published the report of the inspection which took place here the 1st/2nd of October 2009. We are extremely pleased with what the report states about the school and the consistent grade of ‘good’ that we achieved in all of the five areas inspected:-
- The school’s capacity for sustained improvement
- Outcomes for individuals and groups of pupils
- How effective is provision
- How effective are leadership and management
- Early years foundation stage
We were inspected under the new Ofsted framework which has raised the standards again and are so we very proud of achieving a ‘Good’ grade. It validates exactly what we know about our school.
The report recognised that:-
- Pupils attain above average standards in reading, writing, maths and science
- That the school has challenging maths curriculum
- That pupils enjoy their lessons and that teachers explain their work well to them
- Behaviour is excellent
- The quality of work for all subjects in the pupils’ books was impressive
The areas that the report identified requiring further development were:-
- Raise the profile of community cohesion by developing the pupils knowledge and experiences of people from a range of religions and cultures within the UK
- Provide pupils within the Foundation Stage with better resources to support their independent learning
We will be drawing up an action plan to ensure that the two areas for development are addressed.
