Meet the Friends of Ampney Crucis

The Friends of Ampney Crucis Primary School is our version of a PTA and we raise funds to enhance the education experience of all the children at our school.

We frequently stage cake, book and second-hand uniform sales after school, and our annual social events for adults include Chilli Quiz nights, a Christmas wreath making workshop and Summer Exhibition of the children's art. We also host various fun ad-hoc events for the children throughout the year such as discos and seasonal fetes.

Everyone who has a child in the school is a Friend and  regular meetings are held during the school day, and occasionally in the evening, so that everyone is able to attend when they can.

We see the role of the Friends as one of support. All the money we raise goes directly back into the school and benefits the children in so many ways.

We worked hard to raise funds for the Chestnut classroom, we spearheaded funding into the regeneration of our excellent school library, and ensure funds are always available to keep it filled with the most up-to-date books, we work to enable the school to update and improve the outdoor space and play equipment in the school playground and the annual whole-school trip to the pantomime in Cheltenham is always a popular event.

Whilst these stand-alone projects are exciting, we also know that it's important funds are there so that everyday classroom equipment and curriculum needs can be met, so we are always happy to fund a coach that ensures school trips get taken as regularly as possible - to the children's delight!

As parents and carers of the children at the school, it's our pleasure to help our wonderful school enhance the experience and education that each child receives during their primary school years, which is a very special time.
